THREE ARRESTED IN KIDNAPPING FOR RANSOM

          Delhi Police, Central District has arrested three persons, including two businessmen, in the kidnapping for ransom case of a child that happened in the area of PS Patel Nagar on 21.3.15 night.  Arrested persons are:-

(1)              Amandeep Singh Kohli (23) s/o Ajit Singh Kohli r/o Ratan Nagar, Karol Bagh.  He is a graduate.  He was running a garments showroom in Patel Nagar area which he closed due to losses.  Presently he is working as a sales executive in a Woodland Showroom, Karol Bagh.  
(2)              Chetan Sharma (31) s/o Ashwani Sharma r/o Shalimar Bagh.  He is a graduate and is running a Vodafone outlet at DBG Road, Delhi.
(3)              Gyandeep @ Sumit (28) s/o Late Prash Ram r/o V-53, Samaipur Badli.  He is 11th class pass and is an employee in Chetan Sharma’s shop.
    
An 11 year old boy, son of a businessman in East Patel Nagar area, was kidnapped on 21.3.15 late evening from near his residence.   Later the abductors demanded ransom money from the family.  The matter was reported to police on which several teams under the close supervision of Sh. Jitendra Meena, ACP/Patel Nagar, Inspr. Ranjit Dahiya, SHO/Patel Nagar and Inspr. Satender Mohan, Inspr. Spl. Staff were constituted to rescue the child and catch the culprits.  Due to the night long police operations, which mounted pressure on the abductors, release of the child could be secured by early morning hours, without any payment of ransom money. 
           
While Chetan Sharma and Gyandeep @ Sumit were arrested from Delhi, Amandeep Singh Kohli was apprehended from a train at Vadodara Railway Station with the help of Vadodara police.

            Interrogation of the accused persons revealed that Amandeep and Chetan had borrowed money from different people and were heavily in debt.  They conspired to indulge in this crime and also roped in Gyandeep @ Sumit in their mid endeavour. An Innova belonging to Amandeep Singh and a Santro car belonging to Chetan Sharma were used in the crime. 

            The accused persons have no previous criminal involvement as per record.
